This is a stunner of a tablet, in particular in the deep blue colour Apple sent in for review. This means that if you do decide to upgrade to this model, then any accessories will work without issue – including the luxurious Magic Keyboard dock. Same dimensions, same look and only 2-3g heavier. The iPad Air 2022 is near-identical to the 2020 model, then, aside from some changes to the colours in which it’s available, as has been the case with its predecessors. These days, Apple’s products rarely receive a huge design overhaul on an annual basis, and since the iPad Air’s look and feel changed quite considerably in 2020, the latest iteration of the iPad was always going to adhere to that blueprint.

When I reviewed the previous version of the iPad Air (a model that’s now discontinued), I awarded it a very rare five stars. It arrives with just enough ‘Pro’ features to make the current 11-inch iPad Pro difficult to recommend, and a decent array of extras to make it a significantly better investment than the base iPad. The iPad Air 2022 is Apple’s best all-around tablet.

Works with some fantastic, if pricey, add-ons Pair this iPad with the Apple Pencil or Magic Keyboard to really expand its skills.Super-capable internals This iPad packs the M1 chip, which makes it one of the fastest tablets we’ve ever reviewed.
